2nd Roof, Distance EP ed il lavoro con Don Joe

A più di un anno di distanza dalla data di pubblicazione, colgo l'occasione per portare alle vostre orecchie Distance EP, progetto di 5 brani strumentali prodotto dal trio di produttori milanesi 2nd Roof. I ragazzi, molto attivi in quest'ultimo periodo, hanno sempre rilasciato musica davvero valida, e con il passare del tempo l'esperienza e l'evoluzione dello stile sono cresciute in maniera notevole. Bassline profondissime, drums ben curate e melodie prevalentemente elettroniche sono i tratti distintivi del loro stile alle macchine, arricchito da una lavorazione dei sample particolare e molto personale.

Da sempre a stretto contatto con la Dogo Gang (vedesi le produzioni per Montenero, Guè Pequeno e tanti altri), ultimamente sono impegnati in un lavoro a 8 mani con Don Joe (tra l'altro uno dei principali mentori ed insegnanti, oltre che fondatore del Dogozilla Empire) per dare vita ad un album in stile Thori e Rocce. Non si tratterà di un seguito del progetto del Don con Shablo, ma semplicemente il modus operandi sarà molto simile.

After more than one year from the release date, I'll try to bring to your ears Distance EP, instrumental project composed by 5 tracks and produced by Milan resident trio 2nd Roof. These guys, always at work in this last period, have always released good music, and with the passage of the time they've improved their style significantly. Deep bassline, well cured drums and mainly electronic melodies are the distinctive line of their production style, enriched by sample processing very particular and personal.

Since their first steps in contact with Dogo Gang (check out instrumetals for Montenero or Guè Pequeno), lately they're working with Don Joe (one of their main teacher and mentor, founder of Dogozilla Empire) for give life to a Thori e Rocce style album. It' won't be the following project of Don with Shablo, but a different selection with the same modus operandi.

Luca Barcellona aka Lord Bean X Groovisionary - Intervista

L'appuntamento con al rubrica settimanale "Back to the origins" è dedicato a "Le gang nel Bronx" . Check it! In questo articolo ho scelto di parlare delle gang che caratterizzarono la storia del Bronx , vista la forte influenza che questa fase ebbe in seguito sulla cultura Hip Hop, sui messaggi e sui sentimenti che portarono alla creazione di questo movimento . La storia delle gang è breve , ma molto dura e violenta : orientativamente dal 1968 al 1973 il Bronx, famoso distretto di New York, fu invaso da questo fenomeno, definito da u.net (nel suo libro "Renegades of funk" ) come: "L'avanguardia dell'anarchia che avrebbe dominato l'area del Bronx negli anni a venire" .
